Sail Date: Feb 2018

I’ve been on quite a few cruises and chose this one for the destination and price. P&O is a budget line.

Ship: Really great sail past Moreton Island. lovely modern decor throughout. Curtains on the pool deck and deck chairs on the promenade deck smelt (of vomit, urine, and dampness) and needed cleaning. Duty Free alcohol for purchase onboard was fairly expensive in comparison with pricing on other ships I’ve been on and probably on par with Dan Murphys. Unfortunately all shore tours in Port Douglas were cancelled due to rough seas but we were able to go ashore later in the day after the seas had settled a little.

Embarkation: smooth, there wasn’t a long wait and they had a guitarist playing to entertain those waiting - a nice touch.

Cabin Review

Cabin Interior

Tidy room with the necessary amenities but very tight moving around the bed with bunk beds raised. The bathroom was basic but functional with a good sized shower but there were no little luxuries like moisturiser, tissues etc. Heaps of hanging space and 3 in room safes - obviously designed for triple or quad berth. Very old bumpy mattress so I asked for a mattress topper - this was unavailable but a contour pillow was left in my room. The sheets were also very worn and were pilling. The white towels also needed replacing as they were greying. On the last sea day there was vacuuming outside my room at 7:40 am - not really acceptable.
