Pre and Post stays made a great transition to and from the river cruise. Everything about the Grand European River Cruise was excellent.

-The Captain was up early working with his crew.

-All staff were very professional and had excellent customer service attitudes. Aleksandra the suite attendant was great, dining staff were great, Gary Nicholson the Cruise Director was a hoot and kept us laughing, entertained and organized on our excursions.

Veranda Suite

Cabin AA

Our suite was perfect for our two weeks on the ship. Absolutely no problems and the suite attendant was very accommodating for any request we had. The sliding glass door allowed us to enjoy the river scenery regardless of the weather. We loved being up top and outside but our suite was roomy and felt like home for just the two of us. Lighting, temperature, television, movies, weather, trip information and a camera that you could watch from your room as the ship cruised. All the creature comforts of home without the maintenance or cleanup.

Port Reviews

Durnstein (Krems)

Walked through the town which was very nice with a mix of old and new further in.

Koblenz

The statue of Wilhelm de Grossen brought back my husbands german roots and said this felt like home to him (even though he was born in Texas)

Wurzburg

The tour of the Bishops Residence was wonderful, but the real joy on this trip was the excursion to Rothenburg ob der Tauber. Wow, this place was fascinating new world living in an old world environment. Castle- like battlements, quaint shops, beautiful old world architecture, and some good german food made this one of our best excursions.

Nuremberg

We did the the city tour and the undergound tour based on the movie the "Monuments Men" about the Nazi theft of all nature of Works of Art during WWII and their recovery.

Regensburg

This town and excursion was special for us as it was on our 30th anniversary. My husband loved the Wurst Kuche and the history of the Roman Bridge and development of this restaurant starting in the early hundreds (179AD?). This was an example of the saying that all roads lead to Rome.

Passau

Cruising through the Wachau Valley with the wide river, quaint river towns, and castles was breathtaking and soul restoring.

Bamberg

Quaint town that was a little cold that day.
