This was our first river cruise and first visit to this part of the world. Viking took care of everything! It was a stress free trip since Viking organized everything and the wonderful staff were always there to answer questions, offer suggestions, etc. The food was great with plenty of choices and always a vegetarian option for my husband. We had a veranda stateroom and loved sitting on our little balcony with a coffee, watching the beautiful scenery go by. The included tours were excellent with local guides who always had a few personal stories to share. Buses were comfortable and had a bathroom if you were traveling more than 1/2 hour. There was plenty of time to explore on our own, shop, have a coffee and pastry, etc. We did a few optional tours and loved those as well... Nuremburg WWII tour, Rothenburg Ob De Tauber, Top of Cologne. We have recommended this trip to many friends. We liked the size of the ship and found it easy to get to know people since you saw them at meals, on tours, etc. Our room was nice, clean, bed comfortable. We enjoyed the onboard lectures and entertainment. The staff were all wonderful as well and many greeted us by name after a day or two. We will surely do another Viking Cruise in the future!
Rooms are efficiently organized. We unpacked our bags into the dresser and closet, then put our bags under the bed. This maximized space. We didn't spend much time in the room, other than to sleep. We did enjoy the little balcony and often sat out there with coffee to watch the beautiful scenery go by.
We did the WWII Tour and it was fantastic.
Took the Rothenburg Ob De Tauber tour and LOVED that town...found a cute quilt shop.
Melk Abbey is amazing!
Had a wonderful lunch.
Could have used more time in Vienna, there is so much to see.
Went to the large market there...very interesting!
