We flew from Spain to Rome, the train from Rome Termini Station to Civitacchia was efficient and cheap, costing about 5 euros each. Just remember to have your ticket punched at one of the machines on the platform before you get on the train. We then shared a cab with another group to the Port, OK it was more expensive than walking and cost 5 euros per person, but to me it was worth it.
Embarkation was one of the quickest and most efficient we have experienced, well done to Carnival.
Cabins as usual were perfect, we had a balcony on Upper Deck midship, this was a smart move as we did not experience any ship movement and it was quiet. A couple of people we met were complaining about the noise from decks below them from the theatre and discotheques, so be careful when you choose your cabin location.

Cabin was fine, plenty of storage, good size shower room. Quality bed and bedding. Quiet. Good balcony.
Overlooked one the spa pools so felt a bit of privacy was lost and the noise drifting up to us was such that we could hear every word of conversations being held in the pool but this didn't bother us too much.
