We picked it for a special occasion and it started off exceptionally well with the initial boarding. No long waits - just straight on board and although the rooms were ready yet for obvious reasons, they had the restaurants and pool bar at full service for lunch and drinks while you waited.Butler service to all rooms was an enjoyable luxury and we had an amazing butler who couldn't do enough for us. Verandah Suite Category 4 (924) was spacious and comfortable with a large walk in robe which was unexpected. As a long of the passengers were older than us, the entertainment was more down key and could have used a little enlivening at times but the Entertainment staff were professionals and very talented especially the Cruise Director and the Resident Guitarist. We had dinner at La Dame and found it exceptional, the food was amazing. Slightly baffled by the fact the name hadn't changed from La Champagne and when I mentioned this in the mid-cruise feedback - it appeared to be rectified overnight at least on the restaurant doors. You'd have to be extremely fussy to fault the availability and quality of the food and drink on board. All the restaurants changed their menus daily and the food was freshly prepared. The staff worked hard to ensure that all passengers had a great cruise and we are looking forward to going on another cruise with Silverseas as soon as we can. They also have the advantage of other ships and other cruises around the world so there will be something for everyone.

Cabin Review

Veranda Suite

Cabin V4

Our cabin had a balcony, a sitting room curtained off from the bedroom area then a large walk-in room with plenty of hangers, a tie & shoe rack and set of drawers. The bathroom had a separate bath and walk-in shower with a double sink bench. The toiletries were Bvlgari and there was a choice of another Italian brand or a Sensitive skin brand. The rooms were well laid out and comfortable and of a standard you would except of this type of small ship cruising. The bed was a queen and comfortable and all the towels were large white and fluffy and the bed linen of the quality you'd expect. All in all it was an excellent room and being in the middle we hardly noticed the movement of the vessel at all.

Port Reviews

Phuket

Took the Georgetown Highlights Tour and this was a great way of seeing the Island and looking at both the tourist attractions as well as the normal life of the residents. The Tour Guide was very informative and friendly. The bus airconditioned and they provided water and wet towels in sachets for freshening up. Very worthwhile trip.

Yangon (Rangoon)

Again too long a bus journey from the port to anything and the Port itself sadly was basically a concrete slab in front of what appeared to be a Bus Graveyard. The only neat thing was the Navy Frigate moored in front of us - they had what appeared to be a hand over and piping on board and that was really fun to watch. There was also a performance for us when we arrived with the Chinese Dragon and Music, which was lovely.

Malacca

Malacca was the best port - we had a wet landing and could see a lot of the city and the Strait from our position. Most attractions were close to the city so you could catch the tender and then walk at your leisure. It is a city still in the throes of building. A night the city lit up and it would have been better to have stayed two nights at Malacca and only one at Rangoon.
