Cabin: Penthouse with Large Balcony

Being newlyweds and celebrating my husband's milestone birthday, we paid $7600 for a 7-day cruise in a VIP 'Penthouse Suite with Private Balcony'. Our cabin, while nice, overlooked a very busy, crowded pool, had live music directly below us, a public stairwell that allowed people to look into our room and talk to us, and we even saw one man on the other side of the pool looking into our room with binoculars. We dealt with a very accommodating Concierge and Butler but their hands were tied. Corporate's offer of a MINISCULE "credit to be used within 12 months" was insulting. We expected a lot more for $1100 per day. Also, we almost completely used our onboard $300 credit for their internet service ($244 for the week) and it only allowed one person on at a time so my husband and I had to kick each other off in order to use it. This particular cruise does not offer the typical unlimited drink package that we've experienced on other cruises. They did go thru our bags and confiscate our 12-pack of sparkling water. Then their club soda or OJ is almost $5, one margarita with tip is just under $15, a beer just under $10 and if you want to bring your own wine, there is a $15 'cork fee'. All of this, in addition to our flights from Florida ended up being a very expensive, disappointing week.
