We chose this cruise to see New Zealand. The Sun Princess is an old ship that has not received good care. There was a plumbing leak in our cabin that nobody could find. Almost every public restroom had at least one toilet that was not working. The cabins were so small that it was difficult to move around. Dining in the Horizon Café was terrible--the food was cold, service was almost non-existent (it took 10-15 minutes to get some OJ almost every day), service by other staff was poor--no smiles, confusing information given, only a few staff seemed to enjoy being helpful. Dining room was average. Excursions provided were expensive so for most ports we scheduled our own. Embarkation was good--baggage made it to our cabin in a timely manner. The one bright spot was the Captain who kept us informed about our cruise with great position reports and weather reports.
