We chose this expedition cruise because of the unique itinerary and promise of an active experience. We have gone on 15 cruises on various lines. Silversea let us down repeatedly.

ITINERARY: Upon arrival, our staterooms had a letter saying the entire itinerary was changed saying they didn't know anything until the morning we boarded but later found out this was not the case as crew told us they knew weeks before. Instead, on our 14 day expedition, we had 2 days of zodiac as tenders but not to explore, 0 days canoe, 0 days kayak, 0 days biking and limited hiking. We had frequent, long bus tours instead to dirty, impoverished areas and 1 day to a market that already was closed. Beaches we visited were covered in trash, including floating in the water.

ROOMS: Poor air conditioning in many rooms so they moved us to lower decks. Very small with little room for belongings. TV only had movies and no direct TV for live news. Room staff were excellent and could not do enough for us. They were the highlight. Read more
