Just came back from my first Star Cruise, it was my 80th overall cruise.... Sorry to say it was the worse cruise I have ever been on. Six days five nights of nothing but problems and a cruise line that cares nothing about passengers and customer first. All other major cruise lines pre-clear the passengers at the port stops, Star does not instead causing passengers to wait over two hours to get off the ship.

This is the only cruise out of 80 that I have lost weight because the food was so poor. Only cruise line I have ever been on that limits food and offers a very small selection. Even on small ships of 100 passengers the selection and available food was much better and I was on your Flag Ship of the fleet, very poor and very overpriced for what you offer.

But it is not about the money if the service and product is good, then overpaying is not a problem. But from the start of the cruise nothing seemed to be up to international standards including the muster safety drill. It seemed many people did not show up and those that did were late. The crew did not seem to understand what was going on and how to explain it. I did not feel safe or that Star Cruises cares about passenger safety. I think in a real emergency, being on the Costa Concordia sinking would have been safer than with our Captain and Crew.

Port Reviews

Taipei (Keelung)

Again great port with the option to go to Taipei but because Star does pre clear the ship 3500 plus people through immigration and several hours lost. A cash damages of 800 HK dollars if you did not come back at least a hour before sailing made it hard to do much. I was here in 2014 with RCCL and had a great port stop, this time it was bad because of the lack of preparation done by Star Cruises .
