Cabin: Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

We have been cruising for close to 20 years with this cruise being a big disappointment. First the good - the service was very good. Staff were friendly and attentive with good positive energy. Cabin attendant was excellent as was the Cafe and R-Bar staff. We had the dine-anytime with overall good service. We tried all the speciality restaurants and each one was very good - recommended.

And now the not so good - Food - nothing to write home about. Dinner in the main dining room - food was never hot - warm at best. Selection was OK - you will not go hungry but nothing great - just OK. The quality and selection has gone down from other Royal Caribbean cruises we have been on. Windjammer - for breakfast was typical - if you like hot toast, pancakes, french toast - forget-it - they are all pre-prepared standing on hotplates that never keep anything hot. Lunch again - same staff every day with minimal selection - warm at best - nothing hot. Oh yes if you want burgers / hotdogs every day you will find this every day - and pre-prepared so maybe warm.

Ship - the ship is 20 years old and really shows the lack of maintenance. Unpainted surfaces, rust, many lounge chairs that really really need to be replaced, public washrooms that are not kept clean during pick-time.

Port Reviews

Isle of Pines (New Caledonia)

Due to bad weather for Mystery Island we stopped at Isle of Pines. Very nice beaches easy walk from the tender drop-off.

Sydney (Australia)

Just walked around and used the public transportation - easy to get around - lots to see.
