We chose this cruise because of the itinerary. There's nothing more rejuvenating than a couple of sea days and when you surround Cozumel by them, you can almost guarantee a good result. We traveled with another couple (no children this time) and met up on board. Embarkation was easy - no waiting at all around noon. Cabins were ready as promised at 1 p.m.

The dreaded safety drill was painless and relatively short. Then on to vacation (I can never really feel like I'm on vacation until this is over). We had dinner in the MDR on night one. It's been a while since I cruised RCCL as we've been cruising Celebrity for the last couple of trips. The variety of choices was fine. The portions were small, but the reason this cruise isn't getting a 5 is that the food was just so so until we ate in the specialty restaurants. - which were great. The Windjammer is okay - not great, not bad. The pizza, though, really needs some assistance. Unlike some other ships I've been on, there is no grill near the pool so if you want that burger, you get precooked in a pan and add your toppings at the end of the line. It's just not the same. So food gets a 2.5 out of 5.

We took advantage of the thermal spa suite couple pricing $129 for 2 for the trip. This room is really a lovely respite with those heated marble tile chairs. The fact that only about 20 people can buy passes is also nice - you're almost guaranteed that you'll get one of the 5 chairs in the room.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin E2

The cabin 7622 had an obstructed view balcony. It was fine for reading late at night or coffee in the a.m. The room has plenty of storage and has an updated TV. The bathroom had an unfortunate urine smell all the time and the dreaded shower curtain had my SO showering at the spa/gym. Be forewarned that the beds are super super firm. This normally does not affect me, but I had to ask for an additional mattress pad 2nd day.
