We chose this tour out of a lifelong desire to visit Hawaii. We booked with a reputable tour company used previously. ONE WEEK before departure, we were informed by NCL that our cruise was cut short by 1 day due to "manditory dry dock inspection". We were give just a few days to make contacts to decide between 25% credit on future trip or one day's refund. (An employee on the ship told us she knew about the dry dock one month in advance.) When one is arranging packing, medication, pet care, etc., trying to contact a tour company and NCL to compare the $ and make a decision is not easy. Add to that the disappointment of anticipating and saving for the trip of a lifetime- not a good way to start. We had to be ready to leave the ship at 7:30AM one day early, and were taken to a lovely hotel- but had to stand in lines to register, then check bags. We didn't get our bags until 6:25PM. We were asked to stay in our room until the bags arrived. Good thing we did- as they tried to give us 2 bags that were not ours. We had to leave at 7:30AM the next day for the rest of our tour.Altho we had a little time in a nice hotel and a refund, we had to pay for our own meals that one day, along with spending the day waiting instead of vacationing. Food was disappointing, and communication was not consistent. We saw some beuatiful sights, but are very glad to be home.
