We were on the Celebrity Eclipse last winter with friends and had the time of our lives. We booked the Reflection this winter because the Eclipse was sent to South America and the Reflection sailed out of Fort Lauderdale (which we prefer) instead of Miami. The Reflection is a slightly larger ship. We had a Sky suite booked through the Casino with all the great perks ( free gratuities, upgraded beverage package, unlimited internet etc.) The Sky suite is not a true suite but one large room with a nice balcony with an overhang ( not for sun worshippers). The bathtub in the bathroom is impossible to get in or out of AND there are only two electrical outlets in the entire room so forget it if you need anything near your bed. The room steward Jason was quiet and competent and Rudy the butler a real gem. Because the Reflection has 100 suites instead of 60, Michael's Club ( for suites) was very busy. The concierges Nadia and Denisa took it in stride and were great. Luminae ( the suite restaurant has the weirdest menu, so we often ordered off the main dining room menu. The food was mostly great. Lobster tail was spectacular. The staff was hard working and really excellent. We also ate in the Tuscan Grill, Murano and a great new find, The Lawn Club that was a lot of fun. Every day at sea was a challenge to find a deck chair unless you left clothing on one before 8 AM. The new Celebrity Edge will have a suite only sundeck. As we had been to all the ports and didn't get off, those days were great. The ship was lovely to have to ourselves. The disappointment was the entertainment. All three big shows were repeats from last year's Eclipse. One show was so strange that no one could follow the story even the second time around. Jane Curry ( repeat) and her sad tale wasn't enjoyable. I wish she would just sing. Two comedians ( the first night and last night) were great but a mediocre, dated, talentless impressionist told demeaning "jokes" about women and the social director Ian wasn't much better. I had a great time in the casino. Most people on board were friendly and fun to talk to. Everyone was polite and caring getting in and out of the elevators ( very slow). We had a good 10 days. It helped that the weather was wonderful.

Cabin Review

Sky Suite 1

Cabin S1

One large room, ample storage, tons of drawers, closets, refrigerator. Nice balcony with overhang. Quiet. Impossible to get in or out of the bathtub /shower combo. Only two electrical outlets in entire room! Toilet was broken three times ( quickly fixed). Nice linens and bedding. Fruit, flowers and chocolates.

Port Reviews

St. Maarten

Poor St. Martin. We took the water taxi to town to walk around and buy socks at Cariloha . They are still cleaning up from the hurricane and have a long way to go. Everyone is very friendly and pleasant. People who took a taxi to the French side said it was destroyed.
