September 2017, I spent another wonderful week on board this beautiful ship. The food was delicious, and all of it cooked in a wood stove. The crew members are knowledgeable and efficient. The camaraderie and laughter was memorable. There is something for everyone. If you just want to relax with a good book, you will be left alone. But if you want to help raise the sails, take a turn at the wheel, or row ashore, a friendly crew member will help you. The scenery is spectacular! Maine is a beautiful state. You'll see whales, seals, birds and other beautiful creatures. At night, you'll sleep in a cozy but comfortable cabin, lulled by the gentle rocking of the boat and the waves lapping against the side of the ship. If you are thinking of sailing around the coast of Maine this summer, look no further than the schooner American Eagle. You'll be glad you did. Be warned; sailing is addictive. You'll want to return the following year. Make your reservations soon. That ship fills up quickly with repeat guests. As for what to pack, you need only three things: a sense of adventure, a sense of humor, and a sense of wonder. Welcome aboard!
