This was our 16th cruise and to be honest this was the one that left us underwhelmed.
We paid for a balcony so we could, at our leisure, chill and look out at the ocean...if only the balcony door window had not been completely frosted that might have been the case. The seal had gone and we might as well have been looking at a wall. It had clearly been like that for sometime and of course they were unable to replace it. It was almost impossible to close the door as it was. Cabin was frayed around the edges, but of more concern was the broken hinge on the wardrobe. My wife bent down to get something off the floor and the sharp broken metal end smacked her on the head giving her a bruise and a dent in her head for a day. Dreadful. And tattiness was in evidence right across the vessel.
Overall the entertainment was very average. Why they put shows on when people are still leaving the pool I will never know and there was a lack of things to do late night. The drinks prices were extortionate and don't forget the 18 per cent rip off surcharges on every purchase. Food was decent in restaurant, average in the buffet. They advertised formal nights but on RCL this still means flip flops and shirts for some. Waste of time. The ship's excursions were over priced ...paying a fortune to visit a jewellery shop, and peanut factory. We appreciated the early embarkation and late disembarking times and there were plenty of sunbeds. Of the destinations, Penang was poor - nit sure why it was included. Of all the cruise line we've been with this presented poorest value for money - RCL need to get their act together
