We booked a March 2018 back to back on the Celebrity Summit while on the Celebrity Eclipse in March 2016. About six months later, Celebrity informed us that the Summit had been chartered, and our cruises were no longer available. We rebooked two weeks on the Celebrity Eclipse in January 2018 and this cruise on the Equinox. We received extra OBC, etc.
This was our 11th cruise with Celebrity and our first on the Equinox. The ship is beautiful and clean. The staff were wonderful (had only one complaint with the person handling specialty dining reservations the first day). The food and drinks were great. We visited two new ports and two repeats. One of the "new" ports was Key West which seems a bit like a cheat (because we can drive there), but we hadn't visited in about ten years. Costa Maya was a first, too.
Rama, our cabin attendant, was the best we have ever had. I always request a bucket of ice in our room. I am always thirsty, and the tap water isn't very cold. Rama not only brought us ice, but also a pitcher of ice water from the dining room. He said the water is much better. What a treat! Now I am spoiled. Also, he knew our names after meeting us once. He was always around and available to help, answer questions, anything. On our cruise in January, we didn't actually see or meet our cabin attendant until the third day of the cruise. Rama was nothing like that. He sincerely works to go above and beyond.
I'm not sure exactly which ocean view category it was. The cabin is in the bow of the ship overlooking the helipad. It was fantastic - very spacious. We had two extra chairs (like the desk chair). It was bright, airy, and roomy. We are booked in the cabin next door on the Reflection next year. I hesitate about mentioning this cabin. I would rather keep it a secret.
As mentioned in the main part of the cruise review, we explored Key West on our own. We went to the Hemingway House, Ft Zachary Taylor state park, and Truman's Little White House. We had a great day,
