We have been on several Viking river cruises before, in German and Russia and had very good holidays. The problems with communication on this trip started as we arrived at the port when the person who was supposed to come to the coach to deliver important information failed to turn up. Consequently we had problems early on as we did not know about the imminent passenger information meeting. When we spoke to the Cruise Director she was very off hand and dismissive.

Every day there seemed to be a problem with serving dinner. Most days the meal started at 7.00pm but most people did not emerge from the meal until almost 10.00pm. Frequently the food orders were incorrectly served and food was often only just warm.

On several days the ship was double parked away from the quayside. This meant that passengers had to clamber to the top deck on Forsetti and the over the other ship on slippery steps in the pouring rain. excuse me Viking but people made this comment in reviews in 2013 and it is now 2018!! Inevitably some people had impaired mobility issues were unable to leave the vessel and go on the excursions. This parking problem also meant that people who had paid for balcony cabins couldn't use the balcony as there was another ship parked only a few inches way. The double parking on the last night in Bordeaux also meant that fumes were coming into the cabin via the ventilation system

Dear Musucian, Thank you for taking the time to review your recent trip. We are sad to hear that you were disappointed by the food, service and double docking experience. We’re happy to hear...

Cabin E

Cabins are small as was the shower room. The bed was comfortable and the cabin was looked after exremely well by the stewardess Marijana.
