I wish I could give a 3 1/2 star rating. The ship was beautiful, food was excellent as were our dining servers. There were 10 in our group and we ate most meals in the dining room, although the lunch buffet and breakfast buffet were very good. Not impressed with the one night we had to eat at the dinner buffet. Cabin was kept very clean, crew was friendly and helpful for the most part.
Embarkation was a 2 hr. process. Our luggage showed up at our cabin 5 hrs. later, soaked. Ninety percent of my clothes were wringer wet, including shoes, colors bled onto whites. After notifying our cabin attendant, the first thing the rep said was 'not our fault, port authority people left the bags in the rain.' I told them my contract was with Celebrity, not port authority. Found out about 50 passengers' bags were soaked. Gave 2 bags of wet clothes to the laundry, hung up the rest all over the room. Got my stuff back about 36 hrs. later. Three days later, we were given $300 credit toward a future cruise. My dress shoes are ruined, but the colors came out of the whites when washed at home. Shaky start but things went great until our last excursion.
We took the trip to the Mayan ruins in Chichen Itza. The 40 min. ferry trip was fine, then a 10 min. walk through town to the 'bus' for a 2hr. drive. The 'bus' was a 19 passenger van with cramped seating, half of them on an incline, bench seat in the back, couldn't see out the windows, no bathroom and worse of all, no shocks. Dreaded the 2 hr. ride back before we even left. Most horrible transportation we've ever had on an excursion in 20 years of cruising. Guide was hung up on the Mayan calendar, gave us no time to look at vendors and managed to get us back to the ship 1 1/2 hour late and they would not seat us in the dining room.
Cabin was kept clean. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was fine, appreciated the foot bar in the shower.
