We were on the Liberty of the Seas Western Caribbean cruise which included stops at Roatan, Costa Maya, and Cozumel. We arrived and were in our cabin in less than a half an hour. If you bring your own lanyard for you sea pass card ask the person issuing your card to punch a hole in it, otherwise you will need to go to customer service on the ship. We had a superior balcony cabin, it was a little outdated but extremely well taken care of and clean. There was tons of storage and there were two nice chairs that reclined all the way and a table on the balcony. In fact one afternoon my husband put the two chairs together and had a nice nap on the balcony. I do wish they would start making larger showers. I am thin but shaving my legs was a challenge. However the water pressure was excellent. Our stateroom attendant was Kenyan. He was excellent and seemed to know when we left the room in the morning and evening and promptly cleaned our room. We ate all our dinners, except one, in the main dinning room. Our servers Sherman Williams and Rahul were both excellent. They had my husbands ice tea ready for him every night without asking. Service was fast, so I am not sure why others complained. We did have my time dinning and I made reservations ahead of time for 5:30 and 6:00. The one dinner we ate in the Windjammer was not nearly as good as the main dinning room. The Windjammer is buffet style and was decent for breakfast and dinner although I wish they offered a better selection of pastries. On sea days we spent our days at the Serenity pool. It was difficult to get prime seats even a We ate all our dinners, except one, in the main dinning room. Our servers Sherman Williams and Rahul were both excellent. By 10:00 am all the seats were taken and we were packed like sardines. We saw the ice skating show which has previously mentioned is not to be missed. Up in the air, sort of a Cirque du Soleil show, was also excellent. We thought the singing, dancing, and acting in Saturday Night Fever left something to be desired. We were never harassed by sales people, a smile and a no seemed to suffice. We purchased a coffee card. In the past I read there was confusion over what size coffee constituted how many punches. They have solved this problem by now offering only one size and no matter which flavor or type of coffee you request it is one punch per coffee. Getting on and off the ship at the port was extremely easy and fast. I did find it amazing that to get out of the port each port had it set up so that you had to pass through a maze of shops before you could find the exit. In Roatan we did the Tabyana Beach Break. The snorkeling was amazing and as good as any scuba dive I have done. The beach and water was very nice, however by 11:00 am we were packed like sardines again. The shuttle bus runs every half hour back to the ship. In Costa Maya we went for Beach day at Almaplena Resort. It is a very small eco hotel. The beach was great and had plenty of room to spread out. Unfortunately the wind was so bad and the seas so choppy that we could not get in the water. Cozumel we opted for a resort for a day pass and went to Melia resort. The beach was beautiful and the water was gorgeous, but there was not decent snorkeling. For disembarkation we opted to carry our own bags. They give you a time to disembark but our experience was that it really did not matter what time they gave you we showed up at our designated area and just got off when we wanted to. Overall the weather was great and a majority of the staff were friendly. The ship was well taken care of and seemed to be plenty to do. If one likes cursing this a great cruise. Personally we will stick with all inclusive resorts, where EVERTHING is included and you are not packed like sardines at the pool and beach.
