We selected this cruise because it seemed a great way to end our first trip to Europe. After touring on out own for almost three weeks through Spain, we hopped on the Vili and enjoyed being pampered, educated, and transported in luxury. The facilities and staff were excellent, and the included tours started every day with an overview of the area. The food was wonderful, and the included beer and wine with meals made a beverage package unnecessary. The ONLY complaint we have is the strange way that Viking handles tipping. They claim to pay their people a good wage, yet towards the end of the cruise passengers are given a list of suggested tips. This document even suggests not tipping individuals because then those behind the scene would not get any tips. Well... if they pay a fair wage, operate in a region where tipping is rare, why would people need or expect tips? In Germany, Austria, and The Netherlands where the cruise occurs, people in service oriented jobs do not expect tips. (I have even asked in small pubs and restaurants to confirm and the employees tell me they earn a good living and tips are not part of the equation. On top of this Viking asks for $5/day/person for the cruise director, a position that is essentially management level! Our cruise director did a great job, and should be appropriately paid by Viking instead of working for tips. Again, other than the tipping glitch we had a wonderful cruise and would recommend it highly.
Great and efficient in design.
Not our favorite city, but we toured Anne Frank's attic and it was worthwhile.

Bus tour- tons of history and unnerving to see Hitler's haunts.
