We chose the MSC Seaside because we wanted to try cruising with a different company and we were excited about Seaside being a new ship. The price point was also way more affordable than a RC cruise which we were also considering.

We were quite nervous in the weeks leading up to our cruise as there were a lot of negative reviews. We are happy to report however that we (husband, myself, boys 9 & 12) had a fantastic time! There were a few minor hiccups along the way but nothing awful.

First of all embarkation was the best we’ve ever experienced in 5 cruises. 1 hour from being dropped off at the port until we were walking into our room. Our luggage also all arrived by 6 o’clock which was wonderful.

Cabin Review

Bella Balcony Stateroom

Cabin B1

We loved our cabin location. Mid ship and could be anywhere we wanted within a few minutes. We were above the sports bar which we were concerned about at first but we never heard a peep. Also found our cabin quiet overall. Rarely heard noise from eithside of us and no hallway noise.

Couch converted into a bunk bed and comfortably slept our 9 and 12 year old. Good size balcony as well.

Port Reviews

Antigua

We took a taxi to Darkwood Beach. It took about 25 minutes. It’s on the Caribbean side and the water is absolutely stunning. Our kids had a blast playing in the waves. However if you are looking to snorkel the snorkeling isn’t great. Have a bar, restaurant and fresh water shower on site.

Nassau

We walked down to Junkanoo beach. Took about 20 minutes to walk. Pretty beach not too far from the port.

St. Thomas

We always do our own thing in St Thomas. Our favourite beach is Coki beach. It has lovely water and good snorkeling.
