Silversea is a class act!. From the time we arrived in Quito to our departure from Guayaquil everything was first class. They took care of all of the details with great attention and friendliness. The Expeditions (which is why we took this trip) were outstanding. The naturalists on board were extremely knowledgeable, not only in depth but in breadth of knowledge. And... They are so enthusiastic about what they are showing you!! They brought their own cameras so they could take pictures too, and would get very excited at new and different sights. Even though they have done this many times, they say each time is unique. Consequently their enthusiasm was pleasantly contagious and makes us want to return. The food onboard was very good and there was a nice variety in both The Restaurant and The Grill (dinner is unique here--served on a lava stone and you cook it!). Our piano player, Alfredo, was wonderful and serenaded us with many, many familiar songs. Our cabin was great and very comfortable. We loved having room service for breakfast so that we could get ready for our early morning excursions while we ate, without rushing to the dining room. Highly recommend. The overall service by everyone was super. My husband and I did all that was possible: hiking, snorkeling, kayaking, going to lectures, star gazing, cruising in the zodiacs. It was all A-mazing!! If you are looking for adventure this is the trip for you. If you are looking for a traditional "cruise" this is not the trip for you. This is an expedition!

Explorer Suite

Cabin ES

We were in an Explorer suite. Overall a very nice suite. This does not have a veranda or terrace. I think I might like one of those next time so that one can sit outside while we are sailing. Also, extra space to dry the swimming clothes! The Explorer room is plenty big enough and so is the bathroom, unlike on some ships. And our butler, Jamil, and attendant, Ivan, kept our room neat and clean throughout the day, not just in the morning. We did like being on the same deck (3) as the Explorer Room where everyone gathers prior to heading out on each expedition and where lectures are held and films are shown.
