This was our fourth cruise, and all on NCL. All have been with at least one grandchild. This time we had two grandchildren who were new to cruising (middle school and freshman in college). We splurged for not only a balcony, but also a mini suite. Embarking was unpleasant. Heard the ship had arrived late. We had a noon time embarking slot-a madhouse in Tampa. No clear entrance for Latitude members. Just happen to hear one lady guiding others to an entrance. At the end of the cruise, no confusion, just a crazy long lilne. The shows/ entertainment-outstanding. Dingo Dan has the gift to keep your attention and laugh. All the shows were super. Really enjoyed the afternoon hour of a few of the entertainers talkin about their life onboard and taking questions. Food-great variety the first day. Unfortunately, there isn't much change. Yes, some days did have more Mexican or more seafood, but just didn't seem like "Mexican night" or 'Seafood night" as experienced on other cruises. Taste though was fine, and could have Indian entrees lunch and dinner (which was a treat for me). Cagney's-what more can be said that you haven't read already. First time we went and hopefully won't be the last. Liked the buffet, but regretted not eating at Cagney's every dinner. Smaller swimming pool (singular) than expected. Casino was fine. Sufficient smoking areas. Steward was amazing as all we have had have been. There was just something about this ship and cruise that rate a 3 as opposed to a 4. The room was spacious. Sufficient storage. Convenient electrical plug (of course bring a multiplug for four people's electronics). TV was located in a logical place (unlike on our first cruise). Did not use the "Children's/ Teen Club". Both children did not seem board hanging out with us and checking out what was available on the ship and swimming. Harvest Caye-girls loved the pool. Just a place to shop at a created port; that doesn't sell bottles of local rum ! Costa Maya is so much better even if just shopping.
Swimming pool or beach. Thank goodness we found two chairs with umbrella and near beach volleyball net. Not much to do. Shopping-not all that much and no local rum by the bottle. If not interested in pool or beach-stay onboard. Didn't go inside bar/ restaurant. The outside bar at far end of shopping area-nothing wrong, but not where I'd want to spend hours buying drinks.
Great place to purchase any alcohol and meds that you didn't buy in Cozumel. Entertainment is worth watching. Fun place to wonder around. Took excursion to see Mayan ruins last time here.
