We picked this trip based on Hurtigruten's reputation, and the fact that it's a trip experience rather than a cruise.
It fulfilled all of our expectations and more - maybe we were lucky to have great weather pretty much all the way up and back down the Norwegian coast in March / April, but as long as you get the views it wouldn't matter if the sun didn't shine quite so much. Loads of snow fell, but ahead of rather than on us, making everything magical viewed from on board and in the plentiful opportunities to go ashore from what is essentially a ferry / service boat for the coastal community.
Hurtigruten's coastal kitchen cuisine features superb fish of many types, cooked many ways, and it's great that they don't pander to international / fast food tastes. No chips on the buffet or evening fine dining menu for the whole trip! Great!!!
Plenty of room (one of us is 1.93m / 6'4"), loads of well-designed storage space, instant and controllable hot water, great view.
