For my first cruise we choose a western Caribbean itinerary on Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas ship. The staff made us feel welcome and seemed to know our names everywhere we went. For my first cruise I was immediately encouraged by the variety of activities we could choose from. Their Compass publication arrived each evening to provide in-depth description of the next days choices. We participated in shows, movies by the pool, the casino, took dance classes, had tremendous off ship excursions and visited the spa for a luxurious facial. The food and beverages were around every corner and very easy to access. Very few lines for anything and where one was encountered, it soon dissipated.

I asked Melissa once for a bucket of ice and she made appear all day, every day. The critters she made from the towels were majical and fun to return to in our room nightly. The main dining experience was consistently attentive by Franco, Denise and John Albert were so great the first evening, we requested “our” table #64 for each dinner throughout the cruise. Our generous amount of time in Fort Lauderdale was filled with an air boat cruise through the Everglades that we booked through Royal Caribbean. Shopping? Neil provides classes on where to get what, the ins and outs of jewelry deals and will hold your hand shopping or leave you to yourself. Everyone will give you as much attention or as little as you desire. My first cruise was so much fun that I cannot wait to take another.
