Have done several ocean cruises but always wanted to do a river cruise through Germany. My husband booked this for my 50th birthday and it more than lived up to our hopes and expectations. The Emerald Sun is a beautiful ship, the crew are so genuinely welcoming and friendly, and completely professional. They looked happy in their work and the camaraderie between the regular crew and their bosses was just right. The atmosphere on board with crew and passengers was perfect and we felt totally at ease.

The food and drinks were perfect and the facilities on board were first class and everything was spotless. The excursions were very well planned with walks for all levels. The tour guides were experts on their town or city and were so enthusiastic and helpful. All excursions were included which was great, you knew what you were doing each day and it was all planned. Though if you wanted to do your own thing that was fine, and we often did, either before or after the main tour. My favourite was the tour to the Black Forest which should not be missed.

Lovely bar/lounge and restaurant, plenty of opportunity to sit as a couple or with others. Couldn’t fault it and can’t wait to book again.
