Friends had good experiences with Portugal and we wanted to try another cruise with Scenic, so this cruise was a great fit. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and we felt it was well worth it. We took the 3 day extension in Lisbon ahead of the cruise and are glad we had a chance to visit there. The one day tour organized by Scenic gave a good overview so we could go back and revisit some of the sights on our free day. Great city to visit.
The Scenic Azure is a great ship. The crew was great. All very friendly and attentive to our every wish. All crew members were Portuguese and very friendly, so gave us another source of information about the area and the food. One of the advantages of the small ship experience. It will be hard to adjust to normal life after being spoiled like that.
The dining was excellent, with lots of tasty choices at every meal and always some local dishes, so we could experience the area were passing through. My wife's gluten free diet was never a problem as the chef adjusted dishes for her, or offered tasty alternatives.
Response from FionaB, The Scenic Team
The cabin, although not huge, was certainly very comfortable and was always well turned out. The bed was very comfortable. Lots of storage options, so we could unpack the suitcases and still find our clothing. The drying line in the shower came in handy to wash the little items to reduce the big laundry requirements. The balcony was a nice quiet place to relax and watch the river go by.
