We were part of a Group travel to the Middle East (Dubai+Abu Dhabi+Sir Bani Was Island-UAE, Muscat-Oman for 14 days). We truly enjoyed our group travel but we cannot say we enjoyed Costa, the only positive out of the cruise is that they spoke French which is our first language but we also are fluent in English. We have been on RCC and Celebrity ships and really nothing to compare. The ship is old and worn out and the decor is really not our cup of tea. They obviously cater more to their Italian customers as even if you went to the various activities at the pool, the bars the predominant language was always Italian. The service, that it be in the bars or the MDR was inconsistent but I would say overall was not good whatsoever. It took on average 20-30 minutes to get our ordered drinks, wine. In the MDR one evening we decided to change a bottle of wine as we realized it was not the one we wanted and the female sommelier was some pissed off woman, you could tell she was not pleased with our decision-what kind of customer service is that. The food in the MDR was just OK, very basic - if you wanted like Osso Bucco you had to pay extra, no fancy meat throughout. Overall that ship lacks class you find in the ships we've been on thus far. We hardly ever saw our room attendant. The stateroom storage space was good and the bed was comfortable but it stops there. It was dirty-the window curtain was all black-stained at the bottom, should have taken a photo but did not. Did not like the shower curtain as we always had water all over the floor. NO MORE COSTA FOR US IF WE CAN AVOID IT.

Sir Bani Yas Island

We took the safari and did not really care for it but this is really personal taste. From having read the reviews the majority of people had enjoyed.
