We have sailed on the Freedom of the Seas twice before this cruise and have always enjoyed the friendliness of the staff, the ports of call, and the ship's amenities. This cruise was with my sister and brother and our spouses, to celebrate my sister's bday. Although well maintained and clean, Freedom is beginning to show her age and looks a little tired. Also, as the more experienced staff move on to the newer and larger ships, their replacements are not as experienced and it shows. At the last minute we had an emergency and had to cancel and rebook. The RCI staff was very helpful with all the changes we threw at them and was exceptionally accommodating. We were placed in a cabin on deck two and I was pleasantly surprised that there wasn't a tremendous difference from staying in an interior cabin on a higher floor. The cabin was clean and sufficient. Our cabin steward was excellent. The food in the main dining room, Windjammer, and Chops was good. I didn't think any one particular thing was excellent. I have dined at Chops a number of times and we have definitely seen a decline in the quality of the food. Also, there are people there in pj bottoms and tank tops and elastic shorts and tee shirts. How about enforcing the dress code? The band in the star lounge was very good and the games shows - Love & Marriage, Quest were very good as well and funny. Cozumel needs to come off of the ports of call. It is boring and not as nice as the others. We LOVED Costa Maya and would definitely go back there. Friendly and professional staff and the Aqua Waterpark was a blast. It was clean and the slides, pools, and lazy river were great. Grand Cayman is beautiful and we always enjoy snorkeling there and some beach time. Overall a fun cruise but a little disappointed with the decline in service and the priciness of everything - Chops, Johnny Rockets, drinks, etc on board. There used to be a nominal service charge and now you pay $10/pp at Rockets and $40/pp at Chops. Drinks are a ridiculous $10-15 per drink and twice we had to go back and ask for additional alcohol bc there was little or none. It feels like we are getting nickeled and dimed.

Cabin N

Small but clean and comfortable. We didn't really notice the fact we on Deck 2 except when it came to climbing the stairs to the top decks. We don't take the elevators because you wait and wait and wait.

Playa Mia - nice beach. We sailed and swam. Beautiful day, good drinks, didn't eat the food.
