A Cruise trip is a dream come true for many of us, especially those from the Asian countries since they are not, exactly, economy. Apart from the cost of Cruise Trip, which can amount to $280 a day for a couple, you have to reach the embarkation point of the Cruise on your own. Other costs include daily trips to shore for sightseeing as the ship docks on a new location every day. The total cost on a Mediterranean Cruise, for a couple, works out to:

Cruise cost = $2000 (seven day trip)

Cost of reaching the port of embarkation(France)= $ 1850

Marseille

Best to go independently to see a few place

Palermo (Sicily)

wonderful experience travelling the city and sites with the help of a friendly taxi driver cum guide

Sardinia

city has limited options for a tour best to take a walk

Palma de Mallorca (Majorca)

one of the most beautiful cities, lovely for a walking tour

Valencia

Valencia is situated on the banks of the River Turia. This town was originally settled by the Romans about 2150 years ago. It is a beautiful city was proper mix of old and the new. After visiting another Spanish city of Palma de Mallorca in the Balearic Sea, my respect for the Spaniards has increased many folds. A drive takes you through some of the city's many lovely avenues and squares. You will need, at least, three days to do full justice to the city. It is also helpful to take hop on-off buses and see the town. Best to start from Tower of Serranos, built around 1395 and in very good condition, then take a walk to the ‘Place de la Verge’ and from then on to the Cathedral. You will find the streets full of artists masquerading as statues in various shapes. This is something you can find in entire Europe and Canada as well. After visiting the cathedral walk on to ‘Place de la Reina’, a shopping square. Also for some strange reasons, the local authorities have deemed this place fit to start the bus tours. On our visit day, the tourists were so thick that you had to litrally walk sideways, and the tourist seasons is just beginning. The crowd to get on the bus is so huge that civilities is given a go by. Not that I have seen any respect for the elders in western hemisphere in general, and Europe in particular. The bus tour takes you along the football stadium and a statue of Dame Lberica. Do try and get down at ‘Place de Ajuntament’ on the way square. It has some of the most beautiful buildings in Valencia. The entire external walkway along the river in front of the Tower Serranos has been beautifully developed. There are many other castles and churches to be seen, but do try and make it to the Museum of fine Arts and spare half a day for San Jose Caves.
