This was our first cruise on a small ship and I'm happy to say it exceeded our expectations. The Star Pride only carries 200 passengers or so which means that life onboard is generally relaxed and informal. The cabin was pleasantly roomy and the food ranged from excellent to very good. With a small number of passengers you'll also get to know your shipmates since you'll tend to run into the same people on shore excursions, at dinner, or around the ship.
The Yacht Club is a feature that doesn't get enough publicity. It's a lovely, quiet place to sit with a cup of tea or coffee, read, play cards, or just watch the ocean go by.
The crew was a high point of the cruise. By the second or third day we were being greeted by name and asked if we'd like our usual drinks. They were uniformly warm, cheerful, and went out of their way to make us feel welcome.
Cabin Review
Balcony Suite
Cabin was nicely sized (270 sq. ft.) and only a little smaller than some other lines' small suites. The walk in closet was generously sized and there was ample storage in the desk. Two minor drawbacks were the position of the desk relative to the bed which was slightly awkward and only two power sockets (one US, one EU).
