Firstly, overall we did enjoy the cruise ... we have done a 7 days river cruise and sea cruise so have some comparison. It was relaxing, the cabin was clean and comfortable, the food was good (more about that later), the tours were well organised, the staff were great and the ship itself was very good.
We are early 60's and majority (90%) of others were 70plus ... so my review is based on the younger couples perspective.
As said we enjoyed the overall experience but wouldn't do it again. After about day 7 the tours became same same and I got quite over the historical discussions and cothedrals and castles and the town all seem to blend in to one memory ... we talked with many other passengers and many couldn't recall two days ago. So unless your into the history it can become a bit monotonous. Having said that the towns are lovely and tour guides very good ... everything is well organised although you do,feel a little like a heard of sheep. Which is fine for the older people who just want this all sorted for them. We suggested the change and have something different, such as local industry and other stuff ... not just history and castles.
We had the slide down window which left the bottom meter is so enclosed. Was ok but prior cruise has the slide open balcony which was better ... I think the emarald ships have the type of veranda but others have the slide open type ... personal preference.
Bed was comfy and very clean with good storage.
