We chose the Getaway because we had been on it before and had such an excellent experience. While the second time wasn't nearly as good as the first we all still had a great time. The staff wasn't nearly as friendly as they were the first time, in fact the bartender in the buffet area was downright mean. Most staff members kept to themselves simply doing their jobs, unless we spoke to them first. The rooster guy was hilarious! After about four days of eating pretty much the same thing every single day we were wishing they might change up the menu a bit more, but they didn't. The crepe girl was adorable and so helpful. We enjoyed the waterslides and ropes course. The cabin was nice and well taken care of. The entertainment was the best I've ever seen on a cruise ship. The Million Dollar quartet was so fantastic we went twice! The ports were less than we hoped, other than Harvest Caye, we were bombarded by people wanting us to buy things from them. The ports were poor and rundown. We had 10 people so we weren't able to afford many excursions but the two we went on were enjoyable. The Tropicana dining room service was usually decent, but very slow. We wanted to purchase a lot of the photographs but they were so expensive, we were only able to get two. Lower the price and I would definitely buy more! The cruise director was a little over the top for us. By the end of the cruise we swore that if we heard "toodles" or "awesome sauce" one more time we might be sick.
The cabin was clean and comfortable. The beds were nice and the service was excellent.
Harvest Caye was the only place we weren't bombarded by people asking us to buy from them. The beach was wonderful, we didn't even have to pay for our lawnchair and umbrella! We didn't go in the pool because they wouldn't let us take the baby in.
I wish we had enough money to do an excursion because Cozumel was a big disappointment. You can only do so much of the "mall". I suggest doing an excursion here because it isn't worth getting off the ship if you don't.
