I’ve cruised quite a few times on Disney and Carnival cruises but was dying to get on a royal Caribbean. This ship is certainly small and a little outdated but nonetheless did NOT disappoint! I wanted to do a small cruise for my boyfriends first one and he absolutely loved his time spent. The staff was so kind and courteous and always smiling. There definitely isn’t THAT much to do on board. I’d say out of an entire day’s schedule there was maybe 5 things I found really exciting and participated in. However the ones that we did go to were awesome. The entertainment shows (welcome aboard, farewell shows, etc) were just “okay.” I expected a lot more. However, all other events/activities such as the Comedian shows, lobby fair, pool deck dancing were awesome.. and the adult game shows, battle of the sexes, etc had me laughing so hard my stomach hurt. Music on the pool deck (especially the island band) were amazing and the drinks were all delicious and well-made. Dining was great and the portions were the perfect size. It’s definitely not the BEST BEST five star food I’ve ever had but what can you expect with such high volumes of food production and limited resources? I enjoyed every meal & left with a full stomach every night. Rooms were on the small side but honestly we didn’t care because we were rarely in there. The port in Bermuda is absolutely beautiful and only about 25-30 minutes from Horseshoe Bay. Shore excursions desk helped a lot , even when TWO of our excursions got cancelled. They suggested new ones right away and were very honest and up to date throughout the process. Only issue was when trying to get taxi times/prices/schedules the one last was the least bit helpful and claimed to not know any of the info. However, the pamphlet in the room said that the excursions desk had all of this info (which we didn’t see until after we already talked to her). Anyway, $7 for bus rides one way to and from horseshoe bay and $32 for a taxi. Easy information to have just given us. I had a feeling they didn’t want us traveling on our own and maybe wanted us to book with them instead. Aside from that, we had a blast. I’d recommend giving this boat a try especially if it’s your first cruise or you like a more intimate setting. Booking, boarding, embarking, etc. were all so easy, fast, smooth, and well organized. We love royal Caribbean and will continue to book with them!
