Stumbled upon this lovely Coffee House that has been in existence since the

Choosing which cruise line to take my first every cruise for my 65th Birthday was the hard part (and I knew I didn't want to do a large ocean cruise) until my travel agent recommended Avalon. Then the next decision was deciding which of the fabulous cruises to choose from. Once I had decided on "Magnificent Europe" it was booked and 11 months of eager anticipation set in, along with a lot of research, reading about the various places we would be visiting etc. I had 3 nights in Amsterdam before embarkation as having been to The Netherlands once before I was eager to spend more time there. Once on board everything was 5 star. The staff were fabulous, the stateroom on the Panorama Deck was beautiful and so clean - absolutely nothing to find fault with. The common areas for all the passengers to enjoy were very comfortable and spacious. The onboard lectures (2 of them) were informative and fun. The food was delicious with plenty of options to choose from. I didn't go to any of the entertainment at night because I was just too tired after a very busy day and after dinner just went to my room so I would be well rested to start another busy day in the morning. The excursions were informative and fun and the selection of places that we stopped were great, sometimes two places in a day. I loved everything about my cruise and am already looking forward to another Avalon cruise in 2020. Book your Avalon Cruise soon - you won't be disappointed.

Panorama Suite with French Balcony

Cabin P

I have stayed in many 5 star hotels and none of the rooms in these hotels exceeded my stateroom on Avalon Impression in cleanliness and comfort. The bed was extremely comfortable and there is a mattress "menu" - so you can choose an alternative if you are not happy with the one that is there. Pillow options as well, although I travel with my own! The bathroom was lovely and the shower amazing! Having the French Balcony is a wonderful bonus although I didn't open the window too often during the day as I spent my time on the Sun Deck when cruising.

Port Reviews

Amsterdam

We did the Jewish Heritage Walk and it also covers a lot of the city. Very informative.

Wurzburg

The excursion to the Bishop's Residenz was excellent and the largest ceiling fresco ever painted can be seen there - quite magnificent!

Bamberg

Beautiful UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Old Town Hall built on an island in the middle of the Regnitz River is not to be missed.

Regensburg

One of Germany's best preserved medieval cities and has at least 1,300 listed buildings of historic interest. After the walking tour we had plenty of time to wander around on our own.

Cesky Krumlov

When we arrived in Passau, I had booked a day trip to Cesky Krumlov in the Czech Republic. This is one tour you do not want to miss. What a fabulous and enchanting place and also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. I would like to go back and spend about 3 days there exploring this beautiful spot properly.
