We chose AmaDolce because we, along with another couple, enjoy wine, the date worked for us and AmaWaterways had great reviews. Although we have taken several ocean cruises, this was our first river cruise. We absolutely loved it.

We flew into Paris a few days prior to our departure from Bordeaux, and explored on our own - we had a blast! The morning of our cruise we took the train to Bordeaux, and coincidentally met our cruise director at the train station - he was taking the AmaDolce pre-cruise group to Bordeaux. We took a short cab ride from the train station to our ship. We rolled our luggage and didn't make it to the ship before the crew was there to take our luggage - straight to our room. When we walked onboard, they asked our name, checked us off a list, and that was the end of check-in! There were about 100 guests onboard.

At the reception desk we asked to signup for the Chef's Table; as my husband was explaining to the receptionist that I have a gluten allergy, the maitre'd walked up to us and told me not to worry - he would oversee all of my meals, advise the waitstaff, and just to enjoy our stay.
