BACKGROUND: DW and I wanted to celebrate her birthday and Mother’s Day so we booked the 10 day X Equinox.

Pre-cruise: We flew into MIA two days before the cruise from Syracuse, NY and took the shuttle to the Blue Lagoon Hampton Inn. The hotel was near a strip mall which had a multitude of stores. Staff was helpful, room was a good size, beds were comfy, breakfast was ample, Wi-Fi and TV channel selection was very good. The hotel arranged a low price shuttle to the pier. We would stay here again. Thumbs up

EMBARKATION: By the time we got to the ship and dropped off our bags, the lines were a tad long and took about an hour to get on board the ship. No staff was there to check our wine so maybe we could have brought more bottles onboard? We went to the OVC for a snack and then to the muster drill. Embarkation was not enjoyable but it could have been worse. Embarkation = Neutral

Cabin Review

Deluxe Veranda 2B

Cabin 2B

Cabin 7265 – just a few doors away from the elevators/stairs. The balcony cabin was a good size, the bed was relatively comfortable and the TV was large enough BUT the choice of channels was pretty meager. The saving grace was the movie channels. The bathroom was quite small although the shower had a real shower door which kept water from splashing on the floor. We had no noise or cigarette smoke problems and surprisingly, there was no heavy foot traffic even though we were close to the elevators. Our room steward Risto was superb.
