We chose this cruise mainly because it was transportation to the ports we wanted to visit. We departed out of Barcelona and I would recommend time either before or after the cruise to explore this fabulous city. My husband and daughter both got very ill on this ship. In fact, there was at least one person from every party I spoke with who bacame very ill. The second day (day at sea) I pulled a cup from the beverage area and it still had orange juice pulp in it. Not sure if the dishwashers are actually functioning properly, but I am fairly certain this is why people were getting sick. The daily sheets were not very informative and they tended to schedule the same type of events fairly close together so you had to pick which "one" you wanted to attend. One of the television channels had movies, but more recent movies were pay-per-view. Seriously?!? This cruise was "freestyle" which means you can eat when you want. We are early eaters, so therefore if we wanted to eat in one of the dining rooms versus the buffet, you needed to make reservations. If you were to walk in, there was a minimum of 30-45 minute wait. The one night we were able to get into one of the dining rooms, I ordered a steak medium and it came to me as almost charcoal. Speaking of reservations, there was very little communication regarding any type of reservations. One of the ports was a tender, and we didn't find out until we received the daily sheet that we needed to make reservations and by that time, we were not able to get off the ship until 11:00am (tenders started at 8:00am); therefore, we missed our tour. The one thing we did like was they passed out cool towels and water/juice when you returned to the ship from any port. This was our first (and last) freestyle cruise, and I'm sure some of the lack of communication was on our part, but we will never cruise this way again, and will never cruise Norwegian again.

Cabin Review

Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin MD

Cabin had an interesting layout; lots of curves so the sofa that made into a twin bed was really uncomfortable for an adult. The bathroom was separated from the main area by a curtain. The shower was on one side and the toilet was on the other side and they had smoked glass doors. Two of our party was sick, thankfully on separate days, but because of the layout, it was really inconvenient for anyone else in the room. (Not because they were sick, but because of the lack of privacy in the bathroom area. The only plus side was tons of storage.
