We chose Avalon on the advice of our travel agent as she had previous travel with them. We were on the Tranquility II from Amsterdam to Basel. The ship itself was in excellent shape. We had 118 guests with a staff of about 40. All the staff were friendly knowledgeable and and made each of our days enjoyable. The food was varied and we prepared and we were so impressed by their attention to some dietary needs of passengers on the ship. We loved our cabin and our wall of windows. The captain was kind enough to show us his bridge and explain some of the workings of the ship, especially as we went through locks. The on board entertainment , both music and the presentation from the Herr family about the Cuckoo clocks. The organization of the shore excursions was excellent and the tour guides some of the best we have ever had.

We traveled as 2 couples. They loved it as well. We would definitely use Avalon again.
