Alaska was never a destination I wanted to cruise however my family wanted to. so away we go. This cruise left from Seattle, which was a let down as a city, lots of homeless on the streets, didn't feel safe and very expensive, hotel over $300 a night and we stayed near airport, city hotels much more expensive.

embarkation was pretty much a breeze easy on ship. We enjoyed Elite status because of our points with Royal Caribbean which transfer to Celebrity, we also had a concierge room so we walked through embarkation easily.

The Solstice is a nice ship with typical Celebrity modern touches. we got into our stateroom at about 1:30. It was a nice room, plenty of storage, slightly larger bathroom than usual. But generally a typical balcony cabin. We stayed in cabin 9563.
