Cabin Review

Cabin Basic Interior

The cabin was clean and in good condition. However, the beige color scheme is not much to my taste. The way the cabin is set up with a separate closet section makes the room seem smaller than it really is. The noise from 6 am on, with knocking, banging, bumping, slamming, etc. did not let us sleep. Once we finally complained to management, it improved noticeably, but still was not really quiet. I simply think that the cabins are not adequately sound insulated, so bothersome noise is going to happen, and the only real solution is to rip out the walls and repair the insulation...and that is not going to happen, so we are stuck with it. But, if it happens to you, you should complain to the management first thing and they will try to reduce it to the best of their ability.

Port Reviews

Tallinn

Tallin is a nice small historic city. One of the best we visited and our port was fairly near the city.

St. Petersburg

St. Petersburg is an impressive city, but the port is far away from the center so you will need some form of transportation. You could walk, but it would take too long.

Helsinki

They say that there is not much to see in Helsinki, and it is not a grand city, but we found it surprisingly pleasant (maybe it was the good weather) and we wished that we had gone earlier to spend more time in this pleasant town.

Stockholm

Nice city with a lot to see. Unfortunately we had to be back at the ship by 1:30 pm, so too early. At least our ship docked in a place with easy access to the city via ferry, which I recommend since it is a nice way to tour the city by boat, see the islands and avoid the traffic.

Copenhagen

Nice city. Unfortunately, our port was far from the center with only expensive and erratic transportation (in Danish Kronas) to get us to the interesting parts.

Oslo

Olso is a pleasant city with mostly 19th century classical and eclectic architecture so not highly historical. Instead you should go to the Folk Museum and Viking boat museum on a pretty island. This is the place to visit first (then if you have time see the city). You can take a ferry there. Our ship docked fairly close to the center so we could walk without problem.
