We had a fabulous time on the June 25-29th 4-day sailing on the Mariner of the Seas, to Coco Cay and Nassau. As Ricky the Cruise Director kept saying, the theme of the "New and Amplified Mariner" is "Party Like It's the Weekend", and we did! We drove to Miami for the cruise, a short drive since we live in South Florida, and after dropping off the luggage and parking in the garage across from the terminal, we were ready to enter the terminal. We had a junior suite, and we were able to use the "Suite entrance" (left door of the Terminal Building) to quickly show our Boarding pass and go up the escalator to the X-ray Security scanners. From there we went to the Check-In counter through the priority line, did our very quick check-in, and then they told us we could go right on board! Less than 15 minutes from parking and entering the terminal, we were on the Royal Promenade. We also lucked out, because our room was ready, so we did not have to wait until 1:00 PM to get into our cabin. Our cabin was aft, which is a bit of a walk, but we had a large balcony that was awesome. We enjoyed so many things on the ship, but the best thing was the friendly and welcoming crew. From Ren, our cabin steward who would constantly go and open our cabin door when he saw us coming down the hallway, to Olivia and Jing, our servers in My Time Dining who served us our delicious meals, the Mariner crew constantly asked us how things were going, and if there was anything that we needed. This included the supervisors in My Time Dining and the Windjammer, staff around the ship, and the bartenders and bar servers. Royal Caribbean crew are always friendly and helpful, but the Mariner crew were Exceptional. The ship's Royal Promenade has a new look, with the addition of Playmakers Sports Bar and the tiki-hut Polynesian-themed Bamboo Room bar. We enjoyed the "Gallery of Dreams" production show and loved the ice skating show. We also spent time on the pool deck and in the casino. For our day at Coco Cay, we rented an oceanfront cabana in Cabana Cove, pre-booked online through Shore Excursions. The cabana had a nice couch inside the cabana, plus two lounge chairs on the side deck and four lounge chairs in front. It also included snorkel equipment, two float mats, bottled water, and the upgraded lunch buffet at Cabana Cove. Disembarking today was a breeze, we had Luggage Tags for Group 4. We left the ship at 8:00 AM, got a porter to help us with our luggage, went through Customs without a line, and by 8:20 we were already heading north on I-95.

Cabin Review

Junior Suite

Cabin J2

This is an aft Junior Suite, and the room seemed larger and wider than other Junior Suites that we have been in, but the walk-in closet was a little smaller. My husband loved the extra room in he cabin. Best of all, the balcony is quite large. It held two lounge cairs, six regular chairs, two round chair-height tables, and two smaller round coffee-table height tables. The aft view was amazing, and the balcony is totally covered, which we liked. When we stood at the railing, we were able to look directly down into the balconies below us, but felt very private when we sat closer to our cabin door. I would definitel book this cabin again.
