We sailed as a group of friends to celebrate a 60th birthday, and RCCL's new short weekend cruises to the Bahamas seemed ideal. I believe we had the second sailing after the Mariner was renovated for ca $100Million. We had a good cruise experience, as the ship offers a lot of activities for these short itineraries, including a surf-simulator, virtual reality trampolines, waterslides, mini-golf, spa/gym, adult-only area with cabanas, etc. The appearance of the ship was new-ish and clean (though the cabins seemed to have been only partially renovated). Staff was very helpful, in all areas of service. Food in the main room(s)- we mostly ate at Windjammer's Cafe, was good enough, though the desserts lacked in flavor. At times the crew seemed to have a hard time keeping up with the number of people at the bars, or at the pay-for restaurants, which impacted our food experience but this may have been due to the new team on this new itinerary. Ports of call are nothing special (private island and Nassau) unless you booked an excursion, but the ship offers so many activities that you almost don't want to leave it anyway.
