We have friends who travel several times a year on Royal Caribbean. They were an excellent resource with providing guidance in preparation for the cruise.

Goes without saying, YouTube was another great resource for people needing cruising advice. I referred to it frequently, as well as, Cruise Critic and Trip Advisor. I learned about Cruise Critic on YouTube. It's nice to have access to numerous resources when planning a vacation.

We sensed that Royal Caribbean would be a good choice for us. Fortunately, this turned out to be the case. This Cruise Line offers a good balance between high energy activities and low key options. This Cruise Line has a great reputation as many who we talked with acknowledged that Royal Caribbean is better than some other competitors.

Cabin Review

Junior Suite

Cabin J4

As first time cruisers, we went with a Junior Suite which includes a balcony. (We booked through Costco which provided a little bit of a discount.) It was well worth the expense to enjoy having a larger space with a private balcony that includes a table and chairs, along with two lounge chairs. One afternoon, I took in a brief nap there. Very relaxing.

There was a walk-in closet with ample space for hanging clothes. Wooden hangers are provided and lots of shelving! We brought a few extra hangers, which we used due to overpacking a little. Three pieces of luggage were easily stored in this space. One large and two small suitcases. There was room to change there as well.

The bathroom was comfortable and roomy enough as well. Water pressure was fantastic with a deep tub. Plenty of room to store and hang towels. Additional shelving provided on both sides of the mirror. Well designed space!

There's a king-sized bed with the option of separating to make two twin beds. We opted for this as I was traveling with my young, adult son. Beds are comfortable and pillows too! I normally bring my own pillow, but left it behind as we had enough to carry on this trip.

Our suite attendant did an exceptional job of keeping our room clean and well stocked with clean towels. She was very gracious and flexible with our schedule as she waited to access the room a couple times for cleaning.

For those first time cruisers who can swing it, treat yourself to a suite. You'll enjoy the space and additional perks such as first group access on embarkation day.
