We had a fantastic time on board the Norwegian Epic on our cruise covering the Western Med. The package we had included two free offerings. We chose unlimited beverages and specialty dining. By having both of these we know we saved several hundred dollars. The room we had was a very roomy and clean mini-suite. We enjoyed fantastic meals both in the specialty dining rooms (Cagney, La Cucina and Le Bristo) and in the Manhattan main dining room. Our favorite bar turned out to be the Maltings where the bartenders made us feel right at home and we now have several new drinks that we had never tried before. We were able to attend all of the entertainment experiences which we enjoyed thoroughly. We enjoyed dancing in the Bliss lounge and listing to the talented singers from Howl at the Moon. Although we enjoy dressing up several times during our cruises, the freestyle experience was also good and allowed us to pack lighter. We took two of the shore excursions offered by NCL and two from another source. They all turned out great with so much to see in each port. Barcelona is a great port to sail from and to since there is so much to see there. Sailing on the Epic was incredibly smooth and the ship looked great both inside and outside. When we were sailing we spend most of our daylight hours at the adult pool area, Spice H2O. Embarkation and Debarkation we very quick and simple.

Our mini-suite was in a great location on the aft port side of the ship very close to a set of stairs. The amount of storage in the room was the most we have every had on any cruise. The size of the room was excellent. We enjoyed having a full size shower and the toilet being separate in its own little room. The only thing that could be improved would be the lighting since it seemed a little dim. Room temp was great and worked well. The bed was very comfortable and allowed us to get plenty of rest. I enjoyed sitting out on the balcony several times where I had a great view of each port.

Port Reviews

Barcelona

Toured La Ramblas, Casa Batllo, and Park Guell

Naples

To get to the high speed ferry to Capri it was only a 10 minute walk from the ship. The ride to Capri took about 45 minutes. We then had about 7 hours to tour Capri.

Cannes

we rode a little train looking vehicle that took us all around the city.
