We made the mistake of booking the cruise before checking out reviews. Had we read the reviews first we would likely have booked with another cruise line.
Having said that, our experience was not as bad as other reviews might lead you to believe. We've previously cruised with both Tui and Royal Caribbean, and it's clear that MSC isn't quite up to that standard.
Embarkation was a little awkward and involved a great deal more queuing than we've previously experienced on others. This isn't really an issue.
Compared to Tui and Royal Caribbean, the MSC Poesia cabin we stayed in was much better. It was modern and comfortable, and had everything you'd expect from a cruise cabin.
The place is absolutely stunning. Only downside was that it was stupidly busy and very hot for us so it felt like we didn't get as much out of it as we could. That's down to us though, not the place.
Seemed pleasant, not a great deal going on but nice to experience Italy in a not so popular seaside town.
One of the best places I've ever been. White walls, white baths, blue windows. It was everything you'd imagine a Greek island to be. Would happily go back there.
Crazy to think MSC can get away with this place being a port of call. In its defence, the beaches are stunning in Ksamil, but you feel edgy and uncomfortable the whole time. It says a lot when one of the two buses leaves a full 2 hours early with not a spare seat available. The second bus wasn't far behind it!
Another stunning location. Clearly it's been made super famous by the filming of Game of Thrones, but with that aside, the place is beautiful. So much more to see and do than your time ashore allows unfortunately, but it's enough to see the old town. Great port!
