We've always wanted to see Germany so the Rhine Getaway was a great way to do it. An unexpected bonus was the pre-cruise time we spent in Amsterdam and the post-cruise time in Switzerland that were both most enjoyable. Our Viking hosts at the two hotels in each city were extremely helpful in suggesting things for us to do there.

We took advantage of most all the included excursions. The walking tours were very informative due mainly to the knowledgeable guides we had. We also took some optional excursions and we weren't disappointed. The Beer Culture and Dinner excursion in Cologne and the Dine in Rudesheim excursion were well worth the extra expense.

We had a wonderful time; the ship's staff couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful. The food aboard was delicious and there was always a variety of choices. The cabin was clean, well furnished and comfortable, although we didn't spend much time there. We'd love to do another river cruise sometime and it will certainly be with Viking.
