We had been on an Avalon cruise previously from Paris to Normandy and enjoyed it immensely. This cruise was just as wonderful in that we got to see a lot of country without having to change hotels or worry about traffic. The towns we visited were interesting and made even more so through our guides who provided us with the history and up to the present insights in to each area. They were all equally enthusiastic and personable. Our only disappointment was the visit to the Black Forest cuckoo clock shop but that may have been due to a lack of interest in the product. It seemed like a typical tourist trap. We would have liked meeting one of the local farmers and hearing about their daily life.

Our service aboard ship was fantastic! We enjoyed getting to know some of the staff, where they came from, and a little bit about their families. The food was always delicious and we liked the fact that the chef worked hard at bringing us fresh, local dishes that were representative of the area in which we were traveling.

The entertainment on this cruise was above our expectations with the string group and the band providing great listening and dancing.

Outside Stateroom with French Balcony

Cabin P

Our cabin was very comfortable even though we were too busy to spend much time there. The stewards kept it very clean and there was plenty of room to store all of our belongings.
