Sail Date: Jun 2018
Cabin: Balcony
Outdoor bar and seating area on deck 12. We ate many meals out here
Port of Malta. One of the most striking places we visited.
Pizza in Napoli at an open air cafe
Overlooking the bay in Monaco. Another very beautiful port
Ruins at Pompeii
beach break in Palma Majorca

We chose this cruise for the number of stops in Italy. The other ports included are probably places we never would have chosen to visit, but I'm so glad we got the opportunity. That's the great thing about cruising!

Our balcony cabin was PERFECT. We spent lots of time out there. The size of the cabin was fine. Bathroom is sort of small, but I think that is very common on cruise ships. Cabin steward took excellent care of us and the room was cleaned twice a day. We had one or two special requests that he took care of very quickly.

Food was very good. We did not go in any of the specialty restaurants as they were not part of our "package". The two main dining rooms had the exact menus, but there was a dress code in one - men had to wear long pants, no shorts. The buffet was always well stocked and very busy. I thought the variety was excellent and, with the exception of breakfast, different items were introduced each day. Staff kept the space very neat and clean. My only tiny complaint is the tiny cups provided for water/tea at the buffet. Very, very small.

Balcony

Cabin BD

We were at the very end of a hallway, so it was pretty quiet. I loved having the balcony - it was equipped with 2 chairs and a table. We very much enjoyed our time out there as we were arriving and leaving ports.

Port Reviews

Rome (Civitavecchia)

We spent 3 days in Rome before the cruise and booked some tours apart from the cruise line.

Marseille

Short bus ride to town and we enjoyed walking and shopping on our own along the waterfront. took a little tram ride up a steep, winding road to a cathedral. Stunning views from up there!

Barcelona

We just took a shuttle in to Barcelona then opted for a "hop on/hop off bus" and rode the entire loop just to see the city. At this point in the trip, we weren't interested in a long walking tour. We needed a break, but didn't want to miss seeing the city.
