We have been on 5 or 6 RC cruises previously and thoroughly enjoyed every one of them, so much so that we have stayed with them for our last series of cruises. We have been on well over 10 cruises previously on a range of other cruise lines as well as Royal Carribean. This was our first and last on Voyager of the Seas.
Embarkation was a disaster. Crew were directing passengers all over the terminal and then the direction was being countermanded by others. The confusion here in port was to be a prelude to more on board. Every excursion brought the same confusion with all but the last (de-embarkation) being late. We lost 2 hrs on the first excursion and immediately the excursion became rushed and visit times shortened and shopping time abandoned. On another excursion, many people didn't get their meal before we were rushed off again. Our previous experience with RC ships had been great but this crew just couldn't get it together.
On other ships, RC has provided good quality and variety of food at all levels. This one in Windjama, unfortunately, reminded me of a military mess. The food in the formal area was nothing out of the ordinary and I feel it did not meet RCs usual high standard. We only went there once and sat at a table for 8 or 10 on our own - the other guests choosing not to attend.
The condition and appearance of the cabin itself wasn't too bad.
It was the balcony that had visible rust patches and the marine varnish on the rail was non-existent
The bathroom had mould visible on the wall behind the sliding glass door.
We went 4 days without having our glasses washed or changed and my wife had to pilfer a santry bag for the first few days as there were none available in our room
